What is a word puzzle?

A word puzzle is a puzzle where you use clues to fill words into a grid. The best known are the crossword, with numbers in the grid and a list of clues beside it, and the Swedish puzzle, where the clue sits in the black square itself with an arrow pointing to the answer. You can play both here for free.

The words cross each other, so a letter you already have helps you with the word running through it. From 5×5 for a quick break to 21×21 for a long evening, in medium or hard.

Which word puzzles can you play?

The free library has crosswords and Swedish puzzles, which you can filter by text, difficulty and size. Nothing that suits you? Let the puzzle generator make one, or bring your own puzzle as an iPuz or Across Lite file.
